Stroganoff Steak Sandwich Recipe

STROGANOFF STEAK SANDWICH

Ingredients:

  • 23 c. beer
  • 13 c. cooking oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 14 tsp. garlic powder
  • 14 tsp. pepper
  • 2 lb. flank steak
  • 1 inch thick
  • 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 12 tsp. paprika
  • 4 c. sliced onion
  • 12 slices French bread, toasted
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream, warmed 12 tsp. prepared horseradish

Directions:

  1. In shallow dish, combine beer, oil, salt, garlic powder and pepper.
  2. Place flank steak in marinade; cover.
  3. Marinate overnight in refrigerator or several hours at room temperature; drain.
  4. Broil flank steak 3 inches from heat for 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium rare.
  5. In saucepan, melt butter or margarine; blend in paprika and a dash of salt.
  6. Add onion; cook until tender but not brown.
  7. Thinly slice meat on the diagonal across grain.
  8. For each serving arrange meat slices of 2 slices French bread.
  9. Top with onions. combine sour cream and horseradish; spoon onto each sandwich.
  10. Sprinkle with paprika.
  11. Makes 6 servings.
